- Remove the mid aero shield panel. See Panel - Aero
Shield - Mid (Remove and Replace).
- Position an oil drain underneath the rear drive
unit.
- Disconnect the electrical harness from the oil pump
connector.
- Use the oil filter socket to remove the oil filter
from the rear drive unit.
Note: Allow the oil to drain.
- Hand tighten the drive unit oil drain adapter to the
oil filter mount point.
Note: Do not use any tools to tighten the drain
adapter.
- Connect the fluid evacuator hose to the oil drain
adapter.
- Use the XP-10 jump pack and oil pump switchbox to
connect a 12V power supply to the oil pump.
- Press and hold the power button to activate the oil
pump, and then release the button when gearbox fluid is
no longer pumped out.
- Wait 60 seconds for the gearbox fluid to settle in
the oil pump area.
- Press and hold the power button again to activate
the pump, and then release the button when gearbox fluid
is no longer pumped out.
- Disconnect the XP-10 jump pack and oil pump
switchbox from the oil pump.
- Disconnect the fluid evacuator hose from the oil
drain adapter.
- Remove the oil adapter from the rear drive unit.
- Apply a light coat of ATF-9 fluid to the gasket of a
new rear drive unit oil filter, and then install the oil
filter on the rear drive unit.
Torque 3 Nm + 135 deg

Note: Rear subframe assembly components have been removed
from illustrations for clarity. It is not necessary to
remove the rear drive unit from the rear subframe assembly
to perform

Open the LH front and rear doors.
Release the clips that attach the B-pillar applique fastener cover to
the vehicle, and then remove the cover.
Remove the bolts that attach the B-pillar applique to the body, but do
not remove the applique from the vehicle at this time.
