Tesla Model 3: Harness - Trunk- Remove

Harness - Trunk (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Remove the package tray trim. See Trim - Package Tray (Remove and Install).

Harness - Trunk- Remove

  1. Disconnect the trunk electrical harness connectors.

Harness - Trunk- Remove

  1. Remove and discard the bolt that attaches the ground strap to the body.

Harness - Trunk- Remove

  1. Push the trunk electrical wiring harness through the bulkhead.
  2. Remove the trunk trim panel. See Trim - Lid - Trunk (Remove and Replace).

  1. Disconnect the LH and RH trunk light connectors.

Harness - Trunk- Remove

  1. Disconnect the backup camera connector, the trunk handle connector, and the LH and RH license plate light connectors.

Harness - Trunk- Remove

  1. Disconnect the trunk latch connector.

Harness - Trunk- Remove

  1. Remove and discard the bolts (x2) that attach the trunk electrical harness ground straps to the trunk lid.

Harness - Trunk- Remove

  1. Release the clips that attach the trunk harness to the trunk lid.

Harness - Trunk- Remove

  1. Push the harness through the trunk bulkhead and out of the trunk lid.

     Cleaning the Exterior

    To prevent damage to the paint, immediately remove corrosive substances (bird droppings, tree resin, dead insects, tar spots, road salt, industrial fallout, etc.). Do not wait until Model 3 is due for a complete wash. If necessary, use denatured alcohol to remove tar spots and stubborn grease

     Hose - Return - Powertrain (Remove and Replace)

    Remove Remove the HV battery. See HV Battery (RWD) (Remove and Install). Release the clips (x5) that attach the powertrain return (lower) hose to the RH side of the HV battery, and remove the hose from the HV battery. Remove the plugs from the powertrain return hose, if installed. Install
