Tesla Model 3: Hub - Front - LH (Dual Motor) - Install

Tesla Model 3 2017-2025 Service Manual / Suspension / Front Suspension (Including Hubs) / Hub - Front - LH (Dual Motor) (Remove and Replace) / Hub - Front - LH (Dual Motor) - Install

Install

  1. Use a magnetic field viewing card to check the LH front hub's tone ring.
  2. Line up the LH front drive unit halfshaft splines, and then install the LH front hub on the LH front knuckle.

Hub - Front - LH (Dual Motor) - Install

  1. Install the bolts that attach the LH front hub to the LH front knuckle. Torque 85 Nm

Hub - Front - LH (Dual Motor) - Install

  1. Install the LH front rotor on the LH front hub.

Hub - Front - LH (Dual Motor) - Install

  1. Install the new bolts that attach the LH front brake caliper to the LH front knuckle, and then remove the S-hook from the vehicle. Torque 94 Nm

Note: Mark the bolts with a paint pen

Hub - Front - LH (Dual Motor) - Install

  1. Install the bolt that attaches the front brake hose bracket to the LH front knuckle. Torque 5 Nm

Hub - Front - LH (Dual Motor) - Install

  1. Hand tighten a new front drive unit halfshaft nut on the front drive unit halfshaft.
  2. Install the LH front wheel and hand tighten the wheel lug nuts.
  3. Lower the vehicle until the tires are touching the ground. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  4. Fully tighten the wheel lug nuts. See Wheel (Remove and Install).

Hub - Front - LH (Dual Motor) - Install

  1. Fully tighten the new LH front drive unit halfshaft nut. Torque 245 Nm
  2. If equipped, install the LH front wheel center cap. See Cap - Wheel (Remove and Replace).

     Fascia - Front (Remove and Replace)-Install

    Install Installation procedure is the reverse of removal. Top Bottom Install the front fascia grille onto the front fascia, and then fasten the clips (x9) that attach the grille to the fascia. Install the screws that attach the front fascia grille to the front fascia. Torque 1.8 Nm
