Tesla Model 3: Brake Pad Kit - Rear (Sport Brakes) - Install
Install
- Install the brake pad on the LH rear brake caliper
bracket.
Tip:
During installation, press the brake pad away
from the brake rotor.
- Install the brake pad on the LH rear brake caliper.
Note: Mate the brake pad spring clips to the LH
rear caliper cutouts.
- Position the LH rear caliper on the LH rear caliper
bracket.
- Install the lower bolt that attaches the LH rear
caliper to the LH rear caliper bracket.
Torque 90 Nm
- Install the upper bolt that attaches the LH rear
caliper to the LH rear caliper bracket.
Torque 47.5 Nm
- Install the rubber cap that covers the upper LH rear
caliper to caliper bracket bolt.
- Repeat steps 4 to 6 for the RH rear brake pads.
- Install the LH and RH rear wheels. See Wheel (Remove
and Install).
- Lower the vehicle, and then shift the vehicle into
Park.
- Pump the brake pedal to seat the pads against the
brake rotor until the brake pedal feels firm.
- Perform a test drive and burnish the brakes. See
Brake Pads - Burnishing.

Install the hood plugs on the new hood.
Position the LH and RH hood strut brackets on the new hood, and then
tighten the nuts that attach the brackets to the hood.
Torque 15 Nm
Position the hood striker on the new hood, and then hand tighten the
bolts that attach
